Braces in Royal Palm Beach should come with a straight answer on price and a Board-Certified Orthodontist who treats you himself. At Murray Orthodontics, that is Dr. Jonathan Murray, and his office is on Royal Palm Beach Boulevard.
Metal braces cost $3,000 to $7,000. Clear ceramic and Iconix champagne-colored braces cost $3,500 to $7,500. Every case starts with a free consultation, so you see your full cost before you decide anything.

Comparing Braces Quotes Shouldn’t Be This Hard
You search for braces, fill out a form, wait for a call, and still hear “it depends.”
Then two quotes arrive that don’t line up. One gives a monthly payment, one gives a total, and neither tells you who will actually be adjusting your braces.
Before you commit, you want three answers. Is this the right orthodontist, what will it really cost, and will it fit your week? Here are all three before you book anything.
Why Royal Palm Beach Families Choose Murray Orthodontics
The same orthodontist at every visit
Dr. Murray examines you, plans your treatment and checks your progress himself. You won’t be handed off to a rotating set of doctors.
That matters with braces, because small wire and bracket decisions add up over 12 to 24 months. The person making them should know your case from the first visit.
Board certification you can check
Dr. Murray is a Board-Certified Orthodontist through the American Board of Orthodontics. Certification is voluntary, built on peer-developed written and clinical exams, and has to be renewed every 10 years.
He trained at Duke University and Nova Southeastern University’s dental school, then finished a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Florida. You can read more on Dr. Murray’s page.
A practice Palm Beach County has trusted since 1991
Dr. Brad Taylor opened this practice in 1991, and it became Murray Orthodontics in 2023. Dr. Murray is a three-time winner of Best Orthodontist in Palm Beach County, in 2023, 2024 and 2026.
“Any part of the process that might have been nerve-racking was thoroughly explained and gently undertaken.”

Braces Options and Prices
Dr. Murray offers three kinds of braces. If you’re also weighing aligners, our page on Invisalign in Royal Palm Beach covers that side.
Metal braces
Clear ceramic braces
Iconix champagne-colored braces
All three straighten teeth and correct bites. Dr. Murray will tell you which one fits your case, and the lower-cost option is often the right one.
You can see the brackets side by side at your consultation. It’s easier to choose a finish when you can compare them in person.
What Braces Cost in Royal Palm Beach
Where you land in the range depends on how much your teeth and bite need to move and how long that takes. Mild crowding sits near the low end. Larger bite corrections sit higher.
Your fee covers your visits, your imaging and your retainers, so you won’t get a separate bill partway through.
Here is how families make it work:
- Payment plans are always no interest, handled by our office rather than an outside lender
- Low down payments, with a monthly amount you help choose
- A discount if you pay in full
- We accept many Florida insurance plans and check your benefits before you arrive
For the full breakdown, see how much braces cost in Royal Palm Beach.
If you’re planning around a tight budget, how Palm Beach County families pay for braces walks through the options.
What Getting Braces Looks Like, Step by Step
- Free consultation (about 60 minutes). We take X-rays and photos, Dr. Murray examines your teeth and bite, and you get your plan, timeline and total cost before you leave.
- Braces go on (60 to 90 minutes). This is a separate, longer visit. Same-day starts are possible if you’re ready at your consultation.
- Adjustments every 6 to 8 weeks. That works out to a handful of visits a year.
- Braces come off. Most cases finish in 12 to 24 months.
- Retainers at night. From the day your braces come off, you wear retainers at night to hold your teeth where Dr. Murray moved them.
Braces for Royal Palm Beach Kids, Teens and Adults
Kids
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic checkup by age 7. Full braces usually go on between ages 9 and 14, but some problems are easier to treat earlier.
That earlier step is Phase 1 treatment, used for crowding, a narrow upper jaw, habits, or permanent teeth with no room to come in.
A checkup doesn’t mean your child starts braces that day. Dr. Murray tells you whether to treat now or keep watching. Our page on braces for kids goes deeper.
Teens
Teens juggling school, sports and band only need an adjustment every 6 to 8 weeks, which is easy to plan around practice. Athletes wear an orthodontic mouthguard for contact sports.
Many teens also have questions about photos, what they can eat and who will notice. Bring those to the consultation along with yours. Read more about braces for teens.

Adults
About half of our patients are adults. Many choose clear or Iconix braces because they’re harder to spot in a meeting or on a video call.
If your teeth shifted after braces years ago, or you never had treatment, see our page on adult orthodontics. The AAO also explains what adults should know before starting.
Would Braces or Invisalign Fit Your Day Better?
If both are right for your teeth, the deciding factor is compliance. Aligners only work when you wear them 20 to 22 hours a day, and you take them out to eat and clean them.
Braces stay on, so there’s nothing to take out before lunch or remember to put back in. You do need to clean around the brackets and wires, avoid foods that could break them, and wear rubber bands if they’re prescribed.
Be honest about what you’ll keep up with. If you’re worried about a teenager losing trays, say so. If you want something less noticeable at work, say that too.
Some bite corrections are also better suited to braces, and Dr. Murray will tell you if yours is one of them. Our guide on choosing between braces and Invisalign covers the trade-offs.
