Dr. Murray's case note
Came in with an anterior crossbite and gingival recession of the lower incisor. Treated with Phase 1 braces.
Anterior Crossbite Corrected With Phase 1 Braces
Before
AfterWhat was going on
One of his upper front teeth was stuck behind his lower teeth when he bit down. That's called an anterior crossbite.
The gum around one of his lower front teeth had also started to pull back, which is called gingival recession.
What changed
Dr. Murray used Phase 1 braces to bring that upper tooth forward into place.
His upper front teeth now sit in front of his lower teeth, the way they should.
Dr. Murray's case note
A thumb sucker who presented with protrusion of the upper incisors and an anterior open bite. Treated with Phase 1 braces.

Before
AfterWhat was going on
A thumb-sucking habit had pushed her upper front teeth forward, called protrusion or overjet.
Her front teeth also didn't meet when she bit down. That space between the top and bottom teeth is an anterior open bite.
What changed
Dr. Murray treated her with Phase 1 braces.
Her upper front teeth now sit back in line, and her top and bottom front teeth overlap when she bites.

Dr. Murray's case note
Her main concern was that her smile was too narrow, and that we couldn't see her back teeth when she smiled. We treated her with clear aligners to broaden her smile.
Narrow Smile Broadened With Clear Aligners
Before
AfterWhat was going on
Her main concern was the shape of her smile. It looked narrow, and when she smiled, her back teeth didn't show.
What changed
Dr. Murray used clear aligners to broaden her smile.
Compare the two photos: her smile now fills out further toward the corners of her mouth.

Dr. Murray's case note

Before
AfterWhat was going on
Her front teeth didn't touch at all when she closed her mouth, so she couldn't chew with them. That's a severe anterior open bite.
What changed
Dr. Murray treated it without surgery, using clear aligners, in 16 months.
Her front teeth now meet when she bites down.
Dr. Murray's case note

Severe Crowding and Blocked-Out Canines Treated With Iconix Braces
Before
AfterWhat was going on
There wasn't enough room for all of her teeth. Her canines (eye teeth) were pushed up and out of line, and a baby tooth had never come out.
The center of her top teeth also didn't line up with the center of her bottom teeth.
What changed
Dr. Murray treated her with Iconix champagne braces, a gold-toned alternative to silver metal brackets.
Her canines are back in line with the rest of her teeth and the crowding is gone.

Dr. Murray's case note
Came in with spacing and upper incisor protrusion. Treated with braces.

AfterWhat Our Patients Say
Before and After Questions
Are these real Murray Orthodontics patients?
Yes. Every photo on this page is a real patient from our practice. The six recent cases at the top were treated by Dr. Murray, and the case notes come from him.
Will my results look like these?
Every mouth is different, so no two results are the same.
These cases show the kinds of problems Dr. Murray treats and what finished treatment looks like. At your consultation, he'll tell you what's realistic for your teeth.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on the problem and the treatment. The adult open bite case above took 16 months with clear aligners.
With braces, adjustment visits happen every 6 to 8 weeks. With clear aligners, check-ins are every 8 to 12 weeks. Dr. Murray gives you a time estimate at your consultation.
Should I get braces or clear aligners?
Both show up on this page, sometimes fixing the same problem. The two open bite cases were treated with Phase 1 braces for a child and clear aligners for an adult.
With aligners, the deciding factor is compliance. They only work if you wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. Dr. Murray will recommend what fits your bite and your routine. Compare the options on our metal braces, clear braces, and Invisalign pages.
How much does treatment cost?
Metal braces run $3,000 to $7,000. Clear braces, Iconix braces, and Invisalign run $3,500 to $7,500.
Payment plans are no interest. Your exact price depends on your case, and you'll get it at your free consultation.
What happens at the free consultation?
It takes about 60 minutes at our Palm Beach Gardens office at 2517 Burns Rd or our Royal Palm Beach office at 685 Royal Palm Beach Blvd #201.
