Braces for West Palm Beach kids, teens and adults cost $3,000 to $7,000 for metal and $3,500 to $7,500 for clear or Iconix champagne braces at Murray Orthodontics, where Board-Certified Orthodontist Dr. Jonathan Murray treats every patient himself.
Our Palm Beach Gardens office is about 15 to 20 minutes up I-95 from downtown West Palm Beach, and families on the west side of town often find our Royal Palm Beach office just as close. Every case starts with a free consultation where you see your full cost before you decide anything.

Braces Near West Palm Beach at a Glance
Shopping for Braces in West Palm Beach Is Harder Than It Should Be
Most orthodontists around West Palm Beach don’t post a price. You fill out a form, wait for a call, and still hear “it depends.”
Then you compare offers that don’t line up. One quotes a monthly payment, one quotes a total, and neither tells you who will actually be adjusting your braces.
Before you commit, you want three answers. Is this the right orthodontist, what will it really cost, and will it fit your week?
Why West Palm Beach Families Drive North for Braces
The same orthodontist at every appointment
Dr. Murray examines you, plans your treatment and checks your progress himself. You won’t be handed off to a rotating set of doctors.
That matters with braces, because small wire and bracket decisions add up over 12 to 24 months. The person making them should know your case from the first visit.
Board certification you can check
Dr. Murray is a Board-Certified Orthodontist through the American Board of Orthodontics. Certification is voluntary, built on peer-developed written and clinical exams, and has to be renewed every 10 years.
His certification is current through 2031. To check it yourself, search ZIP code 33410 on the ABO’s orthodontist locator and open his listing.
He trained at Duke University and Nova Southeastern University’s dental school, then finished a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of Florida. You can read more on Dr. Murray’s page.
A practice with deep roots in Palm Beach County
Dr. Brad Taylor opened this practice in 1991, and it became Murray Orthodontics in 2023.
Some of our team members have been with the practice for 15 to 28 years, so the people at the front desk tend to know your family by name. Dr. Murray is a three-time winner of Best Orthodontist in Palm Beach County, in 2023, 2024 and 2026.

Braces Options and Prices
Dr. Murray offers three kinds of braces. If you’re also weighing aligners, our page on Invisalign near West Palm Beach covers that side.
Metal braces
Clear braces
Iconix champagne braces
All three straighten teeth and correct bites. Dr. Murray will tell you which one fits your case, and the lower-cost option is often the right one.
What Braces Cost Near West Palm Beach
Where you land in those ranges depends on how much your teeth and bite need to move and how long that takes. Mild crowding sits near the low end. Larger bite corrections sit higher.
Your fee covers your exam and imaging, your adjustment visits, your retainers at the end of treatment, and repair visits if a bracket comes loose. You won’t get a separate bill partway through.
Here is how families make it work:
- Payment plans are always no interest, handled by our office rather than an outside lender
- Low down payments, with a monthly amount you help choose
- A discount if you pay in full
- We accept many Florida insurance plans and check your benefits before you arrive

What Getting Braces Looks Like, Step by Step
- Free consultation (about 60 minutes). We take X-rays and photos, Dr. Murray examines your teeth and bite, and you get your plan, timeline and total cost before you leave.
- Braces go on (60 to 90 minutes). This is a separate, longer visit, scheduled once you’ve decided to start.
- Adjustments every 6 to 8 weeks. From West Palm Beach, that works out to a handful of trips a year.
- Braces come off. Most cases finish in 12 to 24 months.
- Retainers at night. From the day your braces come off, you wear retainers at night to hold your teeth where Dr. Murray moved them.
Braces for West Palm Beach Kids, Teens and Adults
Kids
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic checkup by age 7. Full braces usually go on between ages 9 and 14, but some problems are easier to treat earlier.
A checkup at 7 doesn’t mean braces at 7. Many kids don’t need anything yet, and if waiting makes more sense, Dr. Murray will tell you.
That earlier step is Phase 1 treatment, used for things like crowding, a narrow upper jaw, habits, or permanent teeth with no room to come in. Our page on braces for kids goes deeper.

Teens
Teens juggling school, sports and band only need an adjustment every 6 to 8 weeks, which is easy to plan around practice.
Athletes wear an orthodontic mouthguard for contact sports. Read more about braces for teens.
Adults
About half of our patients are adults. Many choose clear or Iconix braces because they’re harder to spot in a meeting or on a video call.
If your teeth shifted after braces years ago, or you never had treatment, see our page on adult orthodontics.
